MEKP, or Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide, is a clear catalyst (hardener) added to gelcoat, polyester resin, and vinylester resins. Adding MEKP causes a reaction that cures resin at room temperature. Mix with resin only once you are ready to apply it. Typically used in ratios between 1-3%, use MEKP sparingly! Mixing large amounts will generate an immediate and unpleasant exothermic reaction, releasing enough heat to ruin your mixing cups or more.

Sold in a 2 oz bottle, enough for 1 gallon of gelcoat or polyester resin.
