If studs are rusty, clean with a wire brush prior to installing SplineDrive lug nut. Do not lubricate threads. By hand, install McGard SplineDrive lug nut onto wheel to replace the lug nut removed in step 1. Notice: Air impact guns should not be used for installation of McGard SplineDrive lug nuts. Use of an impact gun for installation may cause over tightening resulting in difficulty of removal and permanent damage to the lug nut and SplineDrive tool. Overtightening can also cause damage to brake rotors and wheel seats. Using the McGard SplineDrive installation tool and appropriate size lug wrench, tighten SplineDrive lug nut to the torque specified in your vehicle owner’s manual. For best results, use a torque wrench and socket for final tightening. SplineDrive lug nuts should be re-torqued after 25 miles(40Km) of driving. Repeat process for all remaining lug nuts.
