Reinstall the hub assembly on the axle, rotate the hub slowly while tightening the spindle nut to about 50-ft lbs. Remove the torque by loosening the spindle nut. Don’t rotate the hub – hand tighten the spindle nut until just snug. If a cotter pin is used, back the spindle nut out until the first castellation lines up with the cotter keyhole. Insert the cotter pin and bend over the legs to secure the nut.
